Jez plays… Rocket League

Rocket League is a vehicular soccer video game developed and published by Psyonix. Described as “soccer, but with rocket-powered cars”, Rocket League has up to eight players assigned to each of the two teams, using rocket-powered vehicles to hit a ball into their opponent’s goal and score points over the course of a match. The game includes single-player and multiplayer modes that can be played both locally and online, including cross-platform play between all versions. Later updates for the game enabled the ability to modify core rules and added new game modes, including ones based on ice hockey and basketball. Psyonix transitioned Rocket League to a free-to-play model on all platforms on September 23, 2020. Associated with the transition, the game added cross-platform progression that covers the cosmetic items players have earned, new competitive tournaments at each rank to earn rewards, new challenges, and other features.

After being coerced into doing so by my friends in the Primetime Streamer Network, I started playing Rocket League in April 2021. Here are some of my best goals and antics during my first week of play:

On May 12th, 2021, my Twitch community gents and I embarked on a night of soc-car. We were bad.

It’s been a little ol’ while but we’re finally getting the band back together on Rocket League. Will our play have improved since last time? Well… no… but it was a fun time all around! Enjoy.

Fall Guys became Fail, Guys so we moved on to Rocket League. Big community involvement, lots of fun.

Back on Rocket League for the second time this week – scheduled this time – to give Season 4 a little crack and be terrible in ranked games, as is the tradition…

Didn’t get to stream at my scheduled time so let’s rock with some Rocket League to while away the evening. Community involvement, much banter.

Introducing… Stream Racer and Stream Raiders

Trying out some new community games this afternoon – Stream Racer and Stream Raiders.

Stream Racer is a racing game for streamers. Host your own races, stream it on Twitch and have your viewers join you. Engage more with your viewers by giving them a racing car on your stream. Get ready for a hilariously chaotic time for your viewers and you!

Stream Raiders is a game created by the Stream Captain Team. Its main focus is to add interaction between streamers and their viewers. It is a game that can be played dropping units onto your captain’s battlefield every 5 minutes to support them in their battle.

Jez plays… American Truck Simulator

American Truck Simulator is a truck simulator game developed and published by the Czech company SCS Software. It was announced as being in development in September 2013 and unveiled at the E3 2015. It was released on 2 February 2016 for Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS. The game is the parallel sequel to Euro Truck Simulator 2, the spiritual successor of 18 Wheels of Steel, and the third instalment in the Truck Simulator series. Set in a condensed depiction of United States, the player can drive one of a choice of American-style conventional trucks, visiting various locations across the U.S., picking up a variety of cargos, and delivering them to its destination. Since its release, the game has sold over 2 million copies on Steam.

My first live truckin’ took place on January 25th, 2021 and I decided to get in character with my truckin’ shirt and Route 66 cap.

In my first stream on Facebook Gaming, I’m joined by Rhysage1 and Duff Valley to try out the new convoy mode in the American Truck Simulator 1.41 beta. It was a great laugh and we were joined by some old friends, too.

Back for my second stream on Facebook Gaming, trucking USA once again and convoying with good buddy Rhysage1.

A busy day concludes with a little bit of casual trucking with good buddy, Rhysage1.

Crashing into your lives like a Mack truck for the second time in one day, join the incomparable trio of Rhys, Duff and me as we once again endeavour to write off each others transportation automobiles. Carnage guaranteed.

Jez plays… Call of Duty: Vanguard (Beta)

Call of Duty: Vanguard is an upcoming 2021 first-person shooter video game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. It is scheduled to be released worldwide on November 5th, 2021, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S. It serves as the eighteenth instalment in the overall Call of Duty series. The game establishes a storyline featuring the birth of the special forces to face an emerging threat at the end of the war during various theatres of World War II across the globe.

An open beta version of the multiplayer was also made available for all platforms in September 2021, presenting a selection of five maps and traditional multiplayer playlists, such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed and Search and Destroy with the newly introduced Patrol and Champion Hill game modes. Those players who reach Level 20 in beta will receive an unique StG 44 weapon blueprint available to use in Vanguard at launch and in Warzone at a later date.

I loaded up the multiplayer beta on September 11th, 2021 and despite some very obvious issues (you will see and we discuss them during the stream), I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay and went on to reach Level 20 in my spare time. Very much looking forward to November 5th!
